Coaching experience in organized community sports considered. Coaching experience in soccer at the middle school or junior high school level preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalent required. The person is directly responsible to the principals and works in cooperation with the faculty manager. Teaches sportsmanship and stresses responsibility to one's team and respect for others plans and schedules conditioning activities to develop sport fitness needed to achieve a degree of individual and team success. The coach assumes responsibility for teaching student-athletes the sport of soccer and utilizes demonstrations of skill development progression to teach fundamental skills and team strategy. Mow, edge, water, repair nets, and perform other maintenance items regarding the field and practice facilities.Supervises, coordinates and promotes all phases of the middle school interscholastic athletic soccer program.Schedule referees for all games and scrimmages.Develop the fall and spring schedule of games.Organize daily practice including on the field, weights, and conditioning.Follow student-athlete classroom status, assign and monitor study hall.Establish a budget breakdown and work within the guidelines set up by administration.Lead and guide student-athletes as they make the transition from high school to college.Recruit outstanding student-athletes who will be successful on the field as well as in the classroom.Organize and develop a team within the NJCAA Guidelines.Establish relationships in the community which will promote the soccer program and the College.Follow all NTCC, NJCAA, and Region 14 policies and procedures.Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of five years' coaching experience.Experience in communicating with, working with, and understanding young people.Ability and determination to devote many hours each week to public relations, fund raising, recruiting, games, practice, field maintenance, and travel.In order to recruit properly, the number of hours necessary and the willingness to use personal vehicle must not be an issue. ![]() Many weeks will consist of an 80-hour work week which will be spent on games, practice, field maintenance, travel, and recruiting. The head coach must have thorough knowledge of the NJCAA rules and regulationsĪDDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position requires working most weekends during the spring and fall semesters. This person must have high regard for sportsmanship and academic achievement. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS: The Head Soccer Coach's position requires great leadership of a college athletic program. PURPOSE: The soccer coach is responsible for performing all duties regarding recruiting players, organizing, practicing, maintaining the playing field and practice facilities, scheduling, budgeting, developing student athletes, fundraising, and representing the college in the community as well as all other duties related to the men’s and soccer program and the student athletes who participate. ![]()
